Please use caution when traveling downtown to attend the Prairie Central Home Coming Parade this afternoon due to the current construction project. If children are collecting candy, be mindful of barricaded areas around the construction.
Beginning on Monday, resurfacing will begin. This will involve tearing up the old road and replacing with new. Please continue to use caution when traveling downtown as we work to beautify downtown. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
The Water Dept will begin flushing fire hydrants today 9/23. They are starting south of Oak St and will continue working north to Oak St over the couple of weeks. We will repost as they continue north of Oak St. Water pressure may be affected during this time as well as stirring up sediment in the water. If you notice your water to be cloudy, it will settle and return to normal within an hour.

The boil order for the square block between N 2nd St./ N 4th St./W Cherry St./W Willow St. has been LIFTED. You may now resume water usage as normal. Thank you for your cooperation.

Due to issues with the GFL recycling truck, Chestnut St addresses from 1st-7th St collection is delayed. Please keep cans at the curb, as they will be back to collect.

GFL had a significant delay today due to a breakdown. Most of the route has been complete. They are currently working on 1st, 2nd, Webster St, Jackson St, and Calhoun St. If you did not get picked up today, you will get picked up first thing tomorrow morning.
The boil order effecting homes on E Maple St between blocks 5th - 8th St has been lifted.
With spring cleaning in full swing, we just wanted to remind everyone that yard waste is not to be placed in any GFL containers. The City will pick up leaves/yard waste on the curb that are contained in bags or non-GFL trash cans. Brush may be placed at the curb. Pickup days are Thursday and/or Friday. You may also take leaves/yard waste/brush to the dump pile across from the water tower. Leaf burning days are Tuesday, Thursday. & Saturday March 15th-May 15th.
Due to an emergency water repair this morning, homes ONLY on E Maple St between blocks 5th - 8th St will be under a boil order once services are restored for at least the next 24 hours. Boil order signs in your neighborhood and a post will be made here when the boil order is lifted. There is a GFL recycling delay for resident's on Maple St and Ash St. GFL will be back tomorrow 3/11 to collect your recycling.
The North Side recycle route was not completed today 2/10 due to a truck breaking down. GFL will be back tomorrow morning 2/11 to complete the route. Please leave your cans at the curb so that they can pick up the recycling tomorrow. Thank you.
Bulk Water at the Water Plant is shut down for further notice due to a busted pipe.
