GFL had a significant delay today due to a breakdown. Most of the route has been complete. They are currently working on 1st, 2nd, Webster St, Jackson St, and Calhoun St. If you did not get picked up today, you will get picked up first thing tomorrow morning.

With spring cleaning in full swing, we just wanted to remind everyone that yard waste is not to be placed in any GFL containers. The City will pick up leaves/yard waste on the curb that are contained in bags or non-GFL trash cans. Brush may be placed at the curb. Pickup days are Thursday and/or Friday. You may also take leaves/yard waste/brush to the dump pile across from the water tower. Leaf burning days are Tuesday, Thursday. & Saturday March 15th-May 15th.

Due to an emergency water repair this morning, homes ONLY on E Maple St between blocks 5th - 8th St will be under a boil order once services are restored for at least the next 24 hours. Boil order signs in your neighborhood and a post will be made here when the boil order is lifted. Friendly reminder not to blow leaves onto City Streets. Loose leaves can be taken to the designated dump site near the water tower. The street department will pick up contained leaves at the curb. Leaves/yard waste are not to be put into GFL cans. Leaf burning days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays during daylight hours from Sept 15th-Dec 15th.

Nicor gas will be conducting work on Wanda Ln from November 5th-7th. This work will have the road blocked off for through traffic on Wanda Ln blocks 5th-7th. Homeowners will still be able to access their homes, the roads will be blocked for through traffic only.

The Water Dept will begin flushing hydrants today, 10/17, in the areas of Amber Dr, Carter Dr, and N Jackson St. Water pressure may be affected during this time as well as stirring up sediment in the water. If you notice your water to be cloudy, it will settle and return to normal within an hour.
